Our Arts and Crafts activities provide students with an opportunity to engage in self-expression while creating fun projects.
During boot camp, students will get quite the workout. They will be provided with the opportunity to get in shape while, at the same time, build their strength and confidence.
Campers visit community sites in small groups for recreational activities and to practice functional life skills including purchasing, social skills, and communication.
Not only is cooking a fun and tasty activity, but it also teaches valuable life skills such as emergent reading, following instructions, measuring, taking turns, and communication.
Students will first have the opportunity to watch a professional drummer jam on the drums. Then, each student gets the chance to play the drums themselves, hammering out a beat of self-expression.
Campers can sing their heart out to their favorite pop tunes!
Whether engaging in water play, having fun with bubbles, or participating in sports, time spent outdoors provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy some sunshine!
This activity provides key sensory input. Over time, sensory play can help reduce both sensory seeking and avoidance behaviors. Common activities include tactile toys such as modeling clay, water play, and bouncing on a trampoline or yoga ball.
The strategies and poses taught in our yoga classes promote focus, calming, and self-regulation by aiding in stress reduction while increasing body awareness, strength, and flexibility.
Campers will move and groove to the latest dance steps put together in a low-impact aerobics format! It makes working out fun by incorporating funky and hip steps.
"We are very grateful that our son Jake attends Celebrate Ability after school, Spring and Summer Break Camps. He has excelled as a result of the various programs included within the camp. Notable camp programs include Yoga, Arts and Crafts, Drums Instruction, and his two favorites Cooking and ZamDance. All of the staff at Celebrate Ability are caring and vested in Jake’s long term achievements. Jake has demonstrated increased independence and confidence since attending Celebrate Ability the past 4 years. Without reservation we highly recommend Celebrate Ability camps!"
